Halloween may get the entire spotlight when it comes to October, but the real star that deserves shine for all 31 days of the month is Breast Cancer Awareness.
According to statistics from BreastCancer.org, about 1 in 8 U.S. women (just under 12 percent) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, and women aren’t the only ones affected by the disease.

In 2011 alone, about 2,140 new cases of invasive breast cancer was expected to be diagnosed in men. Within the last year we have seen celebrities in the public struggle with their diagnosis, while celebs like E!’s Giuliana Rancic have been very public with the process of healing and dealing.
For these reasons and more, it’s vital to show support to the Breast Cancer Awareness fund, not just this month, but all year round.
