Soul Train Awards 2012 - Show

What’s up world? The 2013 Soul Train Awards are coming up and we got all the nominees for you.

I caught up with Paxton Baker, the Executive Vice President over at CENTRIC, and found out everything you want to know about this year’s Soul Train Awards, which will be filmed on November 8th in Las Vegas.

    BET Networks 2013 Chicago Upfront

If you were watching The Wendy Williams Show, then you know our friend Anthony Anderson is this year’s host.

“Anthony Anderson is a great, young star from Compton, CA, and as the first host in Soul Train Awards history originally from the west coast, we think he will bring a different aesthetic to the show that has yet to be presented. We look forward to his smart comedy and capturing his unique ability to resonate with diverse audiences,” Paxton explained.

As far as the nominees go, Kendrick Lamar leads the way this year with 6 noms. CENTRIC’s VP knows this will bring in a younger audience to the Soul Train Awards:

Good Kid m.A.A.D City is a modern urban classic displaying compelling and powerful new beats and sounds. It would be the hope that it will bring in a younger audience.”

So from the looks of it, this year’s Soul Train Awards is shaping up to continue in tradition and bring in a younger, fresher audience, “By continuing to provide a creative mix of young and upcoming stars and classic legends; a spoonful of soul, funk, rhythm and blues. Set against the backdrop of the magical city of Las Vegas, where dreams can come true.”

The 2013 Soul Train Awards will be aired on December 1st on BET and CENTRIC. Now check below for the nominees.
