The gritty city of New York is paved with good intentions, but all too often it is also lined with mediocre fast fashion and generic accessories; that is until you arrive at 129 Rivington Street in the Lower East Side. Adjacent to a hair salon (how fitting) you’ll find a little gem with the words “Just ‘Cause” gold leafed on the window, and trust us, you’ll want to poke your head in.

Just ‘Cause is a diverse collective of artistic women who have joined forces to inspire each other and together elevate the quality of their work. The collective’s current curation, comprised of Keetja Allard’s Photoarian candles, Mercedes Hart’s jewelry line, De La Meche Emamusa’s necklaces, clothing line Royal Jelly Harlem and more, is housed in the chic pop up shop located on the LES corner.

The core members include artists, photographers, graphic designers, jewelers, fashion designers, and purveyors of home goods that create a team committed to hosting a variety of events, including sales that showcase the diverse collection of the members’ work, topped off with a bit of champagne.

They’re badass women who make things with their hands, and you should probably support the movement. Head over to JustCauseNYC for more information, or check out more on their Facebook page.
