The ferry that sank while carrying South Korean students just off the shores of the country is still being searched for bodies and missing people.

According to Huffington Post, divers found a way into the submerged ferry and have been able to retrieve more bodies, pushing the death toll up to 50.

The site reports:

More than 250 people are still missing, most of them high school students on a holiday trip, and anguished families are furious with the pace of rescue efforts. Divers had previously failed to enter the ferry, officials said, because of extremely strong currents and bad visibility due to foul weather. They have yet to find any survivors in the ship.

The penetration by divers into the ferry follows the arrest of the captain on suspicion of negligence and abandoning people in need. Two crew members also were taken into custody, including a rookie third mate who a prosecutor said was steering in challenging waters unfamiliar to her when the accident occurred.

After breaking windows and pushing through, the divers have been finding bodies in a lot of different spots of the ship, but bodies have also been found floating in the water.

Reports are also coming forward that the mate who was steering the ferry was apparently inexperienced. It turns out it was his first time steering the ferry.

So far, 23 of those dead have been from the group of students, with the rest being workers of the ship. We pray for those who are still missing.
