Jill Scott is singing the panties off the women at her show. Seriously.

The “He Loves Me” singer is one of the stars of the upcoming James Brown biopic, Get On Up. She plays Didi, a woman who steals James Brown’s attention at a show, and later becomes one of his wives.

We sat down with Jill for an exclusive chat, and talked about the wildest thing a fan has done to get her attention at a concert. Her story didn’t disappoint:

“I’ve actually had a fan take off her panties before. She was escorted out of the building. I thought it was a little excessive to make her leave, but I was kind of busy. I had another 30,000 people to deal with. She got kicked out. I’m sorry about that. She was in her feelings.”

We also spoke with the film’s director Tate Taylor, who told us things got rather difficult on set since they were shooting so many different parts, but he rejoiced when he was able to focus on two people.

“OK, there’s not brass sessions, and go-go dancers and dogs and helicopters, let’s watch these two people act together. That’s when the little bit of relief came out,” he said.

Get On Up (complete with brass, go-go dancers, dogs and helicopters) is in theaters everywhere this Friday. Check out our exclusive with Jill and Tate up above.
