As we all know, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend recently hit up the Waffle House for an impromptu double date with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Dressed to the nines, as they had just come from the NFL Honors and an after party, the photos from their date night went viral for several reasons.
First off, they were kicking back in a Waffle House like they were average citizens and secondly, Kanye did not look happy.
Recently speaking with Elle magazine, Chrissy explained how it all went down:
“It seemed very random, but if you know me it wasn’t that random. It was actually my first time ever at a Waffle House,” she says. “I was at the DirecTV party that night and we’d seen Kanye just completely kill it onstage. I was like, ‘Do you guys want to go to Waffle House?’ It wasn’t that crazy because the night before I went to Taco Bell and the night before that Jack in the Box. No one thought anything of it and they all came with me.”
She also dished on Kanye’s unhappiness:
“Kanye is so much fun. He’s a wonderful person. What I love about Kim and Kanye is that I think they save their happy moments and their smiles for themselves, rather than sharing everything with the public.”
She continues, “And listen, when a camera is shoved in your face trying to take a selfie you do not want to smile. And sometimes those photos get out. I don’t want to smile in every photo I take. Can you imagine someone not asking you and grabbing you by the shoulder and pushing you in and forcing a photo? And not once, but a thousand times a day. I think people should understand that more.”
Makes sense to us, but we must admit we love when Yeezy blesses us with a glimpse of that flawless smile. Thanks for deets, Chrissy!
