While sneakerheads and technology aficionados alike wait for auto-lacing sneakers to release, it’s time to add Michael J. Fox to that list.

The Back to the Future actor (who wore the shoes more than 20 years ago) is waiting for the futuristic kicks to grace our lives. In a recently released video clip, Michael reunited with his Future co-star Christopher Lloyd to discuss all of the 1985 movie’s predictions that have actually come true. When asked about “those self-tying sneakers,” Fox laughed and responded, “I’m waiting for those.”

He shouldn’t have to wait long, as rumors have been floating around for months about the Nike Mag, the sneaker that Michael J. Fox rocked in Back to the Future II. Cryptic tweets like the one below has everyone ready for something major to happen.

The Nike Mag did release back in 2011, complete with a pimped-out Delorean at a Nike store for movie buffs to drool over. Though the pairs went for thousands on eBay, they aren’t self-lacing.

In July of last year, Nike secured the patent for self-lacing sneakers, so it’s time for the Swoosh to show and prove.
