Ricky Gervais hosted the 2016 Golden Globes on Sunday night, and according to reports, he’s been slated to helm the award show again next year, making it the comedian’s fifth time as Globes ring master.
NBC’s president of alternative and late-night programming Paul Telegdy said, “Tina and Amy are a hard act to follow but Ricky is completely fearless and entirely up for the job. He always did us proud. Welcome back, Ricky.” Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorenzo Soria stated, “His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats.”
No official word on whether or not Gervais will host next year’s Golden Globes, but he’s definitely a shoo-in.
Gervais’ return as host of the Globes on Sunday night meant that no one was safe, especially Mel Gibson.
Gervais interrupted Mel Gibson during his presentation to ask a question that people have wanted to know for an entire decade – what does “sugar tits” mean?
The phrase stems from Gibson’s DUI arrest back in 2006, and one of the things law enforcement revealed at the time was that Mel referred to a female deputy as “sugar tits.” Gibson denied using the term.

The X-Wing will appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a prequel to the original 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope. The film will reportedly follow a group of resistance fighters attempting to steal plans for the Death Star and hits theaters in December 2016.
