It’s been nine months since MAC confirmed their plan to tribute an upcoming collection to Selena and now, we’re getting our first look at #MACSelena. The beauty brand took to Instagram to preview one of the collection’s lipsticks.
Shown above is a shade called “Color La Flor.” The lipstick’s purple packaging features the signature “Selena” scribe emblazoned under the MAC logo. In the photo’s caption, MAC includes a quote from Selena’s sister, Suzette, who will be curating the collection.
“I wanted the colors to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage,” says Suzette. “She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen, it’s pretty much incredible. It just shows the love her fan base has even though she’s gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she’s passed.'”
MAC also shared that the collection will be available October 2016. Mark your calendars. How dope would it be to see #MACAaliyah next?
