The number of suspects as to who shoved the knife in Tamar Braxton’s back is down to just one — and it’s not who you think.

After the singer and co-host of The Real confirmed on Sunday that she won’t be returning to the talk show (the official joint statement between Braxton and FOX says it was a mutual decision, but her actions say otherwise), rumors began flying about who was responsible for getting her fired. Naturally, collective eyeballs swung in the direction of her co-hosts, particularly Adrienne Bailon, with whom she’s allegedly been beefing.

Wrong, according to The Jasmine Brand, who claims to have the inside scoop on the double-crosser Tamar ranted about in her Instagram post over the weekend. It’s actually the executive producer of the show, Rachel Miskowiec, who has been in the position since 2015.

As Love B. Scott originally reported, Tamar allegedly got the ax because she didn’t perform well with focus groups and her relationship with production wasn’t great. But apparently the bond she had with her fellow co-hosts wasn’t all for show: they genuinely were all close off-camera and the rest of the girls — Bailon, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love and Tamera Mowry-Housley — were genuinely shocked to learn of her departure.

And if you’re wondering why they didn’t pull a “if she goes, we all go” maneuver, turns out there’s a lot of contract mess stopping them from even trying a stunt like that.

The Real is on hiatus until August, so it might be a while before we find out if Tamar is going to be replaced or if it’ll be a panel of four in season three.
