The View co-host Raven-Symoné is known for her controversial views and outlandish comments. During a recent episode, she said she will move to Canada with her family if the presidential election doesn’t go her way. “My confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I’m gonna move to Canada with my entire family,” said Symoné on Thursday’s show. “Is that bad? I already have my ticket. I literally bought my ticket, I swear.” This isn’t the first time her comments on the show have been under scrutiny. Last October, after she made remarks about not hiring someone with a “ghetto” name, there was a petition launched to have her removed from the program. Read more.


Gladys Knight’s Atlanta Restaurant Fails Health Inspection

Gladys Knight’s Signature Chicken & Waffles, a hotspot in the midtown area of Atlanta, is in hot water after failing a health inspection. According to inspectors, there were 15 violations discovered in the eatery, which included debris found on ceilings and vents, a cooler with a missing door, and violations surrounding hand-washing. Fulton County inspectors gave the restaurant a score of 56. Many restaurant-goers were shocked by the news. Since the restaurant has gained popularity, there are usually lines to get in. “Oh wow…a 56? 85 is bad to me,” said one of its customers. Last April, Gladys Knight’s restaurant received a score of 94 from health inspectors. The Fulton County Health Department will return in a few days for a re-inspection. Read more.


Memorial Services Begin for Michigan Shooting Victims

Three individuals who lost their lives in a shooting rampage in Kalamazoo, Michigan were honored during a service at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Battle Creek. Scores of people gathered for a reflection service on Thursday. “The hope is as we grieve together, we can heal together,” said the church’s leader Rev. Chad Parmalee. Jason Dalton, the man responsible for taking the lives of these people and injuring others, was arrested on Sunday and slapped with 16 charges that included six counts of murder, eight counts of firearm possession, and two counts of assault with the motive to murder. Two of the eight people he shot are still hospitalized. The other victims will have memorial services held throughout the weekend. Read more.
