If there is anyone who can speak on the life and legacy of Whitney Houston, it is her professional mentor, Clive Davis.
Clive was with Whitney just hours before her passing last week, and today he is took the podium at the songstress’ funeral nearly 30 years after he discovered her talent. During his speech, Clive revealed that last week Whitney told him that she was newly committed to her health and she was swimming and doing vocal exercises and was committed to getting her high notes back.

She promised Clive that she would be “ready by August.”
During his speech, Clive addressed Whitney’s daughter: “Bobbi Kristina, you too, always, always be proud of your mother. She loved you so very much.”

Clive finished his speech with a reminder of Whitney’s voice saying, “you wait for a voice like that for a lifetime.”
Whitney has touched so many lives throughout her life and career; all the love she spread in her career was remembered today.
