Just weeks after the death of musical legend Whitney Houston, talks are already swirling about who will star in the biopic movie that will chronicle Whitney’s life.

According to sources, before her death Whitney was ready to tell her life through a biopic that was rumored to have talks of starring Meagan Good, but the film never left the stage of planning.

Now, it seems as if a new front runner is emerging as a potential to play Whitney in a biopic film, a singer who like Whitney is accustomed to being watched under the microscopic eye of the media: Rihanna.

Following up on her role in Battleship, Rihanna is said to be on the shortlist of actresses who are in mind to portray Whitney in film.

Although movie executives are hoping RiRi will sign up for the film, the Talk That Talk singer already turned down the chance to remake Houston’s The Bodyguard last year.

She told OK! magazine: ‘I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else. I want to play a character. My whole life is playing Rihanna; being a singer won’t be a stretch for me.

In addition to RIhanna, accompanying her on the list of actresses to play Whitney are Vivica Fox, Jordin Sparks, and Jennifer Hudson who paid musical tribute to Whitney at the Grammys the day following her death.

Willow Smith is also rumored to be playing Whitney as a child.
Whoever immortalizes Whitney on the screen has a lot of pressure on them to nail the role exactly.
