Queen Bey is ready for some football. It’s just been announced that Beyonce will be performing at this year’s NFL Super Bowl XLVII Halftime show.
According to the Washington Post, the official announcement is expected on Wednesday. But this won’t be Beyonce’s first run at the Super Bowl.
The “Crazy In Love” singer sang the National Anthem in 2004 at Super Bowl XXXVIII in her hometown of Houston, when the New England Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers.
Last year’s Super Bowl show was surrounded by controversy when Madonna brought out femcees Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. All was well until M.I.A. decided to flip the bird during the live performance!
Madonna eventually apologized on behalf of M.I.A., and the “Bad Girls” rapper released a statement apologizing to the nation for her lapse in judgment. We highly doubt Bey will pull anything like that!
The 2013 Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show is expected to air February 3, 2013.
