In about three weeks, Kelly Rowland’s latest album, Talk a Good Game, officially hits stores. Obviously, the most talked about song on that project is the revealing “Dirty Laundry,” a track that talks about Kelly’s struggles being in an abusive relationship, as well as the envy she felt watching her Destiny’s Child bandmate Beyonce rise to the top.

While we heard Kelly talk openly about the song, we have yet to hear from Beyonce herself, who is currently busy on her Mrs. Carter tour.

The other day, Kelly appeared on 93.9 WKYS, a radio station in Washington. She discussed everything Talk a Good Game, which means she talked about “Dirty Laundry,” and more importantly, Beyonce’s response to the song, which she played for Bey and Michelle first, before she released it to the world:

“It was endearing, it was ‘I never left.’ Which was so sweet. And I was just like oh my God… She heard how real I was and was like ‘I’m so proud of you.'”

After Bey said this, she proceeded to play “Girl” on her iPhone. OK, that last part didn’t happen, but that’s how we envision it in our heads.

During the radio interview, Kelly talked about her mind state when crafting the song, saying:

“It was the place that I was in…I was so young. My head was completely gone. That’s what happened with my sister. What matters to me most is what we have. I’m so grateful for what we have as sisters…away from Destiny’s Child.”

Head to the site to hear the full interview. It’s dope.
