An unidentified teen was shot and remains in serious condition after an apparent drive-by shooting in Sanford, FL, the same community that has been rocked by the death of Trayvon Martin.

Sanford Police spent Monday morning investigating the shooting of a teen boy, which happened around 2:10 a.m. in the area of 13th Street at Mangoustine Avenue.
According to MyFoxOrlando, Sanford Police were doing a patrol near that area when they heard shots fired. Officers said they checked the area, and that’s when they found a 17-year-old victim lying in the street at the intersection of 13th Place at Mangoustine Avenue.
The teen was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) with serious injuries. While investigating the shooting, officers also found another vehicle that was struck several times by bullets, but the occupants were not injured.
At this point the only suspect information the Sanford Police Department has is a white or silver vehicle that was seen leaving the area.
