The Rush Limbaugh Show has lost at least ten advertisers after the conservative talk show host called Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” for her support of President Obama’s new contraception plan.

Firms are pulling sponsorship deals from Rush’s show and now two radio stations decided not to air his show for the time being. KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii, and WBEC in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, are no longer airing it.
The backlash follows Rush’s attack last week on Fluke, after she testified about birth control before a Congressional panel.
Carbonite, Proflowers, Tax Resolution Services, Legal Zoom, Citrix Success, All State, Heart and Body Extract, AutoZone, Quicken Loans, Sleep Train, Sleep Number, Oreck, stamps.com, Deere & Co., Geico, St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut, Bethesda Sedation Dentistry, Cascades Dental, Allstate, Sears, men’s retailer Bonobos and AOL have all stopped advertising with the show. In all about 29 and counting advertisers have ended their relationship with limbaugh.
Listeners of smaller, local radio stations that broadcast the syndicated show are being called on to pressure advertisers to cut all ties.
On Twitter, the message is amplifying as users are using the hash-tags #BoycottRush, #StopRush and #BoycottHate.
Yesterday Fluke appeared on The View and said:
“The statements he’s made about me over the air are personal enough, so I’d rather not have a personal phone call with him”
Limbaugh admitted that his ‘choice of words was not the best’ and couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his opponents, saying:
“I acted too much like the leftists who despise me. I descended to their level, using names and exaggerations,” he said. “It’s what we’ve come to expect from them, but it’s way beneath me.”
Last Friday, Obama called Fluke to thank her for speaking out on the controversial issue. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the president felt “the kinds of personal attacks that have been directed her way have been inappropriate.”
The Rush Limbaugh empire is crumbling before our eyes.
