There's no doubt in our minds that the Chinese New Year is a very profitable time for both shoe and apparel companies alike. Nike has celebrated the Chinese New Year for over a decade without missing a beat or a sneaker release. This year is no different, however many other brands have hopped on the CNY bandwagon and are giving consumers much more options than we had ever imagined.

This year marks the Year of The Snake and Nike has pretty much capitalized on the sneaker game for the Chinese holiday with 3 individual pairs of Kobe signature sneakers, three Air Force 1s and even a destroyer jacket. It's safe to say that they are very invested in this Chinese New Year and we think that it may have to do with the fact that Kobe Bryant calls himself "The Black Mamba," one of the world's deadliest snakes.

Vans has also released an Old Skool skate model with snakeskin trimming. Adidas released quite a few sneakers and even New Balance got into the festivities with a collection of their own.
