Shepard Fairey is recognized for his politically inspired artwork but to the fashion crowd he may be known best for his brand Obey. Fairey has long mixed both worlds by putting his own artwork on his clothing but for the Spring 2012 season, Obey will be teaming up with other artist for their Spring Artist Series.

One of the artist is New York’s own Curtis Kulig aka Love Me whose stickers and  graffiti become visible if you pay close attention while walking around NYC.  So much so that Nike Sportswear did a special edition shirt with him during New York’s Fashion Night Out back in 2010.

Love Me’s highly identifiable script was derived from the  “I Love NY” logo we have all seen at some point.  Obey uses his tag on some of its items for their Spring Artist Series.

Unlike JRF, CYRSTAL KOVACS, Blanda Eggenschwiler and Burton Machen, the other artists in the series,  Kulig will not only be collaborating on t-shirts: he will also have his tag incorporated onto a button-down shirt, a jacket, a hat and a bag.
