Wake and bake, y’all! It’s 4/20 and you know what that means: weed in all its abundance.

Around the world, today marks the 30 Something Anniversary of Smoke Weed Day, invented in California by bored teenagers. We’d like to think of the holiday as being thousands of years old, though. Why it took a millennia or two to get the party going is still a mystery, but we’ll just blame fear and call it a day.

After all, it has been a few thousand years since the heavenly ganja was cultivated in India and used as a religious ticket to connect with the divine. After all, it has been proven in laboratories to be a better alternative to synthetic fibers. After all, it has been proven to help cancer patients deal with the nausea of chemotherapy and has been linked with the improvement of eating habits, improved listening and creativity, more so than alcohol. Reason and fear, it appears, is the folly of mankind.

My, how far we’ve come as enlightened beings in the 21st century!

We digress, but we’re just saying, weed is still illegal. WHY? It being illegal hasn’t stopped some of our favorite people on the planet from toking up: celebrities!

After the break, some iconic weed smoking celebs who wake and bake. Enjoy!
