Just when we thought it was over, it looks like Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim are back at each other’s throats, thanks to Twitter. Most people celebrate the social micro-blogging convention, but we’ve noticed that Twitter has been the source of a lot beef in the hip-pop community.

From Lil’ Kim’s recent rant regarding a possible tweet that the pint-size diva accuses Minaj of deleting, or the classic case of misinterpreted jokes a la Jim Jones vs. Fabolous, here’s our favorite examples of a Twit-attack.

Lil’ Kim vs. Nicki Minaj

There have been many Twitter spats between these two ladies. The most notable would have to be Nicki’s response to Kim’s “Black Friday” sales. Kim’s mixtape allegedly sold 113,000 copies in 28 hours and, of course, the rapstress took to Twitter to celebrate, but there was a hitch. Paypal reportedly couldn’t handle the traffic. “Sorry 4 the link issue too many hits shut the paypal system DOWN! LOL,” Kim tweeted. Nicki responded to Kim’s tweets with, “Bwaahhhhahhahahahahahahhahahhhaaahhahahhhaha!!! *lifeless* *leaves on stretcher* *cant go on*.” In the end (of this particular battle), Kim chose to clarify that her back and forth with Minaj wasn’t really beef. “#twitterbeef This is not beef,” Kim tweeted. “Real beef is when someone gets shot 5 minutes later. CHILD PLEASE!!! #toomanytwittergangstas #teamlilkim LEGO.”

Rihanna vs. Ciara

All you need is a little spark to get a fire started and Ciara set it off with a comment on E!’s “Fashion Police” that alleged that RiRi was less than pleasant to her. Rihanna got wind of Ciara’s comments and a brief Twitter beef was launched.
Rihanna tweeted: “My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u?” Ouch. But, we all know this wouldn’t be one-sided. Ciara was quick to respond to Rihanna and tweeted, “Trust me, Rihanna, you don’t want to see me on or off the stage.” The pair went back and forth a bit before Rihanna took the high road and apologized. “Ciara baby, I love you girl! You hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s why I retaliated this way! So sorry!” All’s well that ends well. Good job, ladies.

Pink vs. Kanye

Kanye caught a lot of flack for Taylor-gate 2009. On September 13, 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift went up to accept her award for Best Female Video for “You Belong to Me” when Kanye jumped onstage and … well we know how the story goes. ‘Ye would be chastised for the incident by media, celebs and even President Obama, but there was one tweet inparticular that felt like fighting words.

Pop singer Pink took to Twitter to say how she felt about the rapper/producer. “Kanye West is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me,” Pink tweeted. Geez. Tell ’em why you’re mad Pink. That wasn’t the last time the singer would have something negative to say about Yeezy, but she hasn’t called him out via Twitter since the aforementioned comment.

Chris Brown vs Raz B

Former B2K singer Raz B kicked off an intense battle with Chris Brown when he called out the singer in a somewhat random tweet. “I’m just sitting here thinking how can n*ggas like @EBenet & @Chris Brown disrespect women as intelligent as @HalleBerry11 @Rihanna,” Raz B tweeted. Chris Brown wasted no time responding and tweeted: “@RazB2K n*gga you want attention! Grow up n*gga!!! D*ck in the booty *ss little boy.” The Twitter fight would reach another level when Chris Brown’s buddy, former B2K head Omarion jumped in, but didn’t take Raz B’s side. Omarion tweeted: “Hahaha #HOMOTHUG Lol!! Year of the #THIRST.”

The beef took a life of it’s own when Raz-B responded and reacted to both Brown and Omarion. “Yo @Chrisbrown I heard about all your boyfriends & tell your cheerleader @1Omarion to shut the fuck up before I send J Boogs to f— his mama again,” Raz tweeted. We’re sure Breezy and Raz-B won’t be sharing a stage or collaborating on a track anytime soon.

Fabolous vs. Jim Jones

Nobody likes to feel like someone is jocking their style and that seemed to be the motivation behind Jim Jones’ tweet last year.
“I just seen another rappers video tht look just like me chain gang n scarf dam I’m sonnin these n*#%az I gues my style might body ya lol wht,” Jones tweeted. The “body ya” reference is what likely got Fab’s attention. The Brooklyn-bred rapper was quick to fire shots back. “Oh so it’s time 4 subliminal tweets huh?? Ok cool.. #TellMeWhyUMad I’m mad cuz it’s over for that ballin…. Brooklynnnnnnnnnnnnnnn,” Fab tweeted. And, it didn’t stop there. Fab, known for being a bit of a Twitter comic went in on the Harlem-bred rapper with a series of tweets that suggested that Jones may have started with the wrong one. The rappers eventually made up, and thank goodness … that could’ve gotten ugly.
