Princess Beatrice‘s hat received as much attention as Kate Middleton’s dress at the Royal Wedding, usurping cats as the most interesting thing on the Internet two weeks ago.
Designed by Royal Miliner Philip Treacy, the unique head gear has been sold on eBay for $131,341.47 which will go to two charities: Unicef and Children in Crisis. Prior to eBay, it made the rounds at the White House and even on Batman!
“I’ve been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted,” Princess Beatrice said in a statement. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have.”
