Take It in the Ring

Contenders: Donald Trump vs. Sarah Palin

Match: The meeting of the minds happened in New York City yesterday when Sarah Palin and Donald Trump exchanged words after a brief meeting at the real estate magnate’s penthouse in a Manhattan skyscraper bearing his name.

Palin, the former Republican vice presidential nominee, said she and Trump shared similar ideas for improving the U.S. economy, while Trump explained, “She didn’t ask me for that. She came up as friends, she’s a great woman, a terrific woman and a terrific friend. I’d love her to run.”

Inside the Capitol

Where: Minnesota

Who: Michele Bachmann

What Happened: When asked if she is willing to run for President, Michele Bachmann looked to a higher power, at least that is what she told an Iowa Public TV station. Bachmann said, “Well, every decision that I make I pray about as does my husband and I can tell you, yes, I’ve had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do and because it’s such a momentous decision, not only for myself, my husband and our 28 children, it is a momentous decision.”

And let’s just remember that God created the platypus and “works in mysterious ways” before we all go changing religions, OK? You can watch the entire interview, here

Better Than Fiction

Character: Bank Robbers

Plot Line: Now this is just crazy, bank robbers are taking the same idea from a heist movie. Bank robbers in the Chicago area used nun masks to disguise themselves, the same ones that Ben Affleck and his crew wore to rob banks in the 2010 movie The Town.

Hero of the Day

Who: Willis Sands

What: A 2-year-old girl was playing by a window and fell through, luckily Willis Sands was there to save her life. It happened at a building on Cruger Avenue in Bronxwood at about 11:30 a.m. When an off-duty New York City paramedic, 35-year-old Willis Sands, was passing by and quickly realized the small figure was not a doll.

“I looked down and I saw the baby shaking,”  Sands said. “Blood underneath the baby.”

Sands said he didn’t know how the toddler had gotten there, but knew if he didn’t stabilize her immediately, she would have no chance.
