Anthony Weiner, the New York Congressman, admitted and apologized to tweeting a lewd photo to Seattle student Gennette Cordova last Friday, he stated at a press conference today.

The congressman also stated he meant the photo to be a direct message and not a tweet. The Congressman went on to say that he will not resign after he sent shirtless pictures and sexually explicit messages to women over the Internet.

Weiner told the room full of reporters that he accepts all responsibility “I am going to try to handle this and have not ruled out seeing someone…but not blaming anyone…this is my own personal mistake” Weiner continued “This was me doing a dumb thing and doing it repeatedly and then lying about it”

Moving forward the Congressman said “I am not resigning and will try to go back to work a better person, man and husband”.

One of the newest photos show the Brooklyn-Queens congressman with his shirt off and another shows him sitting on his couch with his cats and the caption reading “me and the pussys.”

The congressman has been trying to keep a low profile the last couple of days, he even skipped out on a speech in Wisconsin on Friday and missed Sunday’s Israel Day Parade, an event he attends regularly.
