Hosted at the Bonham’s auction house in New York City last night, Russell Simmons’ 12th Annual Art For Life art auction preview was a success, as guests got the exclusive viewing on unique artworks from some of the contemporary art world’s most celebrated names.
The art auction was co-hosted by Bonhams Chairman Laura King, Russell Simmons, auction chairwoman Lucille Blair and designer Tory Burch.

The theme for this year’s auction is “Works on Paper” and Kara Walker, the featured artist, donated a beautiful piece she had just completed in honor of Art For Life.
Throughout the evening, Charity Buzz, the online auction experts, made their way through the crowd, taking several bids from party-goers.
Russell and Danny Simmons, founders of Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, gave a special thanks to the entire roster of artists who had donated so generously this year, as proceeds from the event will go to support the art education and gallery programs.
