Multi-platinum R&B singer R. Kelly was rushed to the hospital yesterday to drain an abscess on one of his tonsils.
R. Kelly is currently laid up at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and will remain there “for an indefinite amount of time,” according to a press release.
Kells reportedly was suffering from severe throat pain, then went to a throat specialist and was subsequently rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery.
R. Kelly had just completed the U.S. portion of the Love Letter Tour and was scheduled to perform on Friday at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica prior to this incident.
We hope the Pied Piper has a speedy recovery and keeps his great singing voice intact!
