Can you believe it’s already August? What happened to June?

Time flies when you rolling in a new ride, especially in the summertime. It’s another week of the latest leaks in music for your listening pleasure.
ATL has been rolling hard this summer with The Brick Squad solidifying their foundation in the streets and ears of fans. With Gucci being locked up and just getting out, Waka Flocka has been standing on his own two feet.

This week he let go ‘Round of Applause’ which should continue to keep the strip club bouncing. Fans of Waka’s lyrical ignorance will no doubt get their fix with this Lex Lugar-produced gem.

Some of the ATL’s biggest records have gotten their start in the A’s steamiest sex spots. “Applause” will be no different.

Shout to Royce da 5’9.

When I saw him in NY a few weeks back for the Jeezy show, he mentioned he and Eminem had been in the studio with DJPremier. Well this week, “Writers Block” (remix) surfaced for all fans of ‘The D’s’ most dynamic duo. Royce and Primo have been collabin’ on tracks since “Boom” but adding Slim to the hook was a good look.

The whole Slaughterhouse situation has fans open with anticipation of skills, but Royce has always been a stand-alone MC capable of holding his own.

With all the energy around Maybach Music’s newest signees, it’s almost easy to forget about Rick Ross’s original crew Carol City Cartel.

Legal BS says they can’t be called that now, so the Triple C’s have been maintaining through all the hype around Wale, Meek and Pill.

While putting a few street records out to keep their name bubbling, this week’s release of “Fly Shit” may finally give them that mainstream hit they need. Cardiak’s beat on this so ‘gutta’ but most importantly, there’s no Rozay on the track.

Young Breed, Torch and Gunplay fly solo on this. Peep.

Last week fans of D Block (The L.O.X.) and The Wu Tang clan got the ultimate surprise when the track “Wu Block” surfaced. I’m not sure which was doper, The RZA re-emerging as a producer on this record, or the star power of some of hip hop’s illest MCs on one track.

At any rate, this song would have been an instant classic had it been while ODB was still alive. Guarantee you this will be a crowd pleaser during this summer’s Rock The Bells Concert tour.

Finally Teedra Moses recent signing to Maybach Music kind of went unnoticed, so she leaked out a track with lable mate Wale, “Another Luvr.”

Teedra Moses has been slept on for most of her career. But this incredible R&B singer has been grinding hard putting out dope tracks for almost a decade now. Remember the song “Just Want To Be Your Girl”? If not you should get your google on.

On the first listen to “Another Luvr,” you might start rapping ‘Back in the days when I was a teenager, before I had status, before I had a pager…’ as the baseline was taken from a popular classic Tribe Called Quest record.

Enjoy, until we read again.
