Earlier today, it was reported that Nicki Minaj and Safaree ended their relationship, yet Safaree is now living in Nicki Minaj’s California condo.

While I cannot actually confirm that these two broke up, or that they were actually ever a couple, what I can say is that there are just some things you don’t do when you’re in a relationship and some other things you should never do when you break up with someone.

Rumor Alert: Did Nicki Minaj Fire and Dump Safaree?

Breakups are weird, especially when love is involved. Personally I’d rather take a beat down than get my heartbroken. Because in the words of Lemon, “An ass whooping will come quick, but a broken heart will work it’s way up in your nice and slow, and before you know, you’re on your living room flo’ like I don’t want to live no mo’!”

Breakups are tough, so for all the people going through breakups, I have some things you shouldn’t do when you break up.

Don’t Stay With Your Ex: Staying with your ex after a break up might be convenient, but it only leads to problems. Believe me I know. What’s worse then being around someone when all of the emotions are dead? It’s like getting stabbed and not removing the knife.

Don’t Try To Make It Work: People generally want things to work out, especially love. So when things start to go bad in a relationship, we tend to hold on to the love we once had. The thing is, most of the tim,e things tend to continue getting worse. Or even borderline terrible, which may lead to 911 calls and busted lips, but I digress.

Don’t Remain Friends On Facebook: Staying friends on Facebook and Twitter is a sentence for more arguments and drama. New pictures get uploaded and people suddenly think they can comment or have some authority over their ex. I had an ex-girl who continuously made sly remarks on my pictures, so I had to remove her. After that, she would send text messages about the women I chose to take pictures with. It’s not cool and just an added headache.

Don’t Be Social: Another thing you shouldn’t do is try to get answers on social networking sites. The whole world doesn’t need to know your business. I’ve seen numerous celebrities call each other out on Twitter and I’ve seen lots of my followers call each other out on Twitter and it’s just messy. The last thing you can do is win anything in the court of public opinion and trust me @TheMostRachettChick98 cannot tweet anything to help the pain from a broken heart.

What are some other things you shouldn’t do after you break up with someone? Let’s have a discussion!
