Snoop Dogg has the recipe for success and the ingredients are all in the puddin.’
We caught up with The D O Double G during his set at the Electric Zoo Festival in NYC and Snoop dished the dirt on the first time he met his boy Warren G.

GlobalGrind: 20 years in the game! How do you feel?
Snoop Dogg: “I don’t feel old. But I feel like I had a long run. But I’m not done I want to do more.
You keep reinventing yourself and coming back … what’s the key to your success?
I don’t know. I think it’s in the pudding. I just love music and I love being different and there’s always certain things that you can do to flip it and make it yours. As long as people appreciate the fact that I make music, I’m gonna continue to put my twist on it and do what I think is supposed to be done with it. I love making music and I love when people appreciate it.
What is your favorite song you ever made?
“Nothin’ but a G Thing” with Dr. Dre.
What is your favorite bedroom song you’ve made?
“Sexual Eruption.”
We talked to Warren about his first memory of you playing Pop Warner football, can you elaborate on that?
Me and Warren G come up from the East Side LBC. He was one year up on me, but we played football against each other. He had glasses on, he was out there playing. He was just a cool dude. Certain people when you’re kids, you connect with them and we became friends. We became like best friends, him and my brother was the same age, but me and him, we hung out more.
We just got along, everything we did, we did it together. When I would go to my girlfriend’s house, he would be right there with me. When I got kicked out of my house and I go spend the night on somebody’s couch, he would be right there with me. Wherever I went, it was Warren and Snoop.
That’s my dog forever, he’s the reason that Dr. Dre heard me. He took my music when I gave up on rap, when I threw my raps away and was sellin’ cocaine and was like, ‘Man, this ain’t gon’ work,’ he took my cassette to Dr. Dre and played it for him and Dre liked it and he got me a deal. So thank you, Warren G, I appreciate you man.
