The America we’ve dreamed of is not the America we’ve become. Many of the young people who are occupying Liberty Plaza in lower Manhattan, protesting the money grab from the rich and the corporate control of our government, have inspired me to amplify their message as loud as I can. The people in this country and around the world are tired of the rich getting richer on the backs of the working class and the poor. The wealth gap is the biggest it has been in American history and more and more people are slipping into poverty, while millionaires (including me) pay less in taxes.

The biggest impediment to our democracy functioning properly is the undue influence of the special interests, lobbyists and corporate money in Washington. We, the people, will no longer accept politicians who work for cooperate and special interest and as a result do not represent us. It should not be legal to be able to control our politicians with money. President Obama, in historic proportions, has attacked this cancer that is plaguing our government, but has received very little support from those on the other side. If the Republicans and some Democrats want to continue to be controlled by Wall Street and corporate dollars, they will find themselves on the unemployment line very soon. We must bring the power back to people and continue to grow the peaceful movement that started 14 days ago in New York City. It would be smart for some Senator, perhaps John McCain or Joseph Lieberman to write legislation and get out in front of this revolution, because change is coming.
