Rihanna is featured in the latest issue of Vogue UK and the pop star spitfire made a few comments that seemed to raise some eyebrows.

Rihanna told Vogue:

“People – especially white people – they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me and it became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it.”

Rihanna goes on to say:

“That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art, with all these toys and textures to play with.”

One member of Rihanna’s Navy heard about the controversial comments and decided to ask Rihanna about them via Twitter.@rihanna has #Vogue twisted ur words a little on that ‘white people remark’?”

The Talk That Talk singer replied by tweeting:

“What u mean??? I didn’t read it yet! What did it say? I don’t classify people by race! That doesn’t even make sense…WEIRD!!!”

This whole ordeal is getting out of hand, celebrities shouldn’t be forced to be role models and isn’t it up to the person to choose who their role models are? What do you think?
