Not much is known about wily English artist Banksy, so journalist Marc Leverton has decided to publish a book about the myths and legends surrounding the Exit Through The Gift Shop producer. The book’s title? Banksy: Myths & Legends.

It took the author almost three years to get all the material onto paper.

STORY: Banksy Hasn’t Quit Hollywood Yet

Here’s what Leverton had to say about the book and the process, which included talking to Banksy’s surroundings in Bristol.

“For me these stories illustrate the incredible audacity, originality and sheer bloody mindedness of Banksy. Obviously he will be best remembered for his art and exposing the hypocrisy and dumbness of our modern lives. The myths will be viewed as a distraction to some or part of the appeal for others.

One thing is certain, the art and the myths are both larger than life and stick two fingers up at conformity. This book is a celebration of that anarchic, rebellious spirit.”

Seems dodgy if you ask us. Who’s to say that Leverton isn’t Banksy just playing a trick on us?!
