Heartbroken and on the verge of divorce, 26-year-old New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries must be thinking, “where’s the love?”

Just a little over 24 hours ago, his soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian filed for divorce after only 72 days. It seems like the prenuptial agreement the two signed before the marriage is going to leave this b-ball playa flat broke. Or is it?

We all know Kim held the checkbook in the marriage and Kris was just happy to be along for the ride. Kim is valued at a net worth of $35 million, while Kris holds up a measly $8 million.

Kris won’t get any of Kim’s money after the divorce, but it doesn’t mean he’s going to be hosting kid’s parties for extra cash any time soon.

Ever since this basketball flinging giant hooked up with Kim, the guy’s fame and funds have shot higher than his NBA stats. From wedding specials to party appearances and reality television episodes, Kris’ marriage to Kim is probably a bigger financial success than his whole basketball career!

The fact is, Kris actually made more from the marriage than he lost.

Here’s a quick estimate of the how much money Kris probably gained from his 72 day old marriage:

Kim and Kris sold the rights to their wedding for $17.9 million dollars, airing it on a two part special on E! If Kris gets half, that leaves him with $8.9 million dollars. Not bad for just standing in a monkey suit and saying the words “I do.”

The couple made a $1.5 million photo deal with People Magazine, leaving Kris with a nice slice of that pie, ranging to about $750,000 dollars for good ol’ Kris.

US Weekly paid a price ranging from $30,000- $100,000 dollars for their post-nuptial trip to Italy. It’s dificult to determine how much Kris will get out of that, but we are gonna go with at least $15 Gs.

OK! Magazine dished out $100,000 dollars for their bridal shower photos, so Kris, say hello to another $50,000 in your back pocket. Let’s not also forget the honeymoon photos they sold for $90,000. Now isn’t that romantic?

Kim earns up to $200,000 for appearances at parties and events, and you know when Kris tags along, the man deserves his cut for just standing there with a grin on his face. We say he probably would get a third of that money which adds around to $66,000.

We forgot about his time on Kim’s reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, where she gets $40,000 per episode, so naturally we can believe that Kris will get some kind of compensation for his time on screen.

Not bad for just 72 days of work, oops, we mean marriage.

Kris also made about $3.2 million from the Nets last season, though the lockdown is probably making things difficult.

But hold up one second! We forgot something very important: the $2 million dollar engagement ring Kris bought for Kim. Will Kim return the ring? We’re not sure, but if so, that’s another $2 mil on hand (literally).

It’s rather sad that the big fairy tale wedding ended up coming to a battle of the dollars, but unfortunately that’s what marriage has come down to for many celebrities.

It looks like Kris will be doing just fine after all, so forget about sending this guy any donations.
