At first this image of the four covers side by side is off putting in a way.

Seeing such a strong image of rebellion and revolution next to a lighthearted drawing depicting someone dealing with anxiety is odd. What does this mean? That the U.S. doesn’t care about global issues? Why must the U.S. have a completely different cover story than the rest of the world?

STORY: LIFE Magazine’s Worst Covers 

In addition to this upcoming December 5th issue, there are many examples of Time magazine cover images and headlining stories that have been completely different in the U.S. in comparison to Asia, Europe and the South Pacific. 

Information is generated towards a specific audience that will be profitable and will be able to sell advertisements as well, but thinking globally, the U.S. is affected by foreign issues. These cover images are open to the public on Time Magazine’s website, does that mean that this is just a harmless pattern?
