Common has been prepping for the release of his ninth studio album The Believer, The Dreamer, but that’s not stopping him from keeping his acting feet wet.

The rapper/actor is starring in AMC’s brand new show Hell On Wheels, playing Elam Ferguson and is clearly taking his job very seriously.
It looks like he gets to use some of his Chi-town moves and gets to show off his all natural body, once going on record saying “We work out, man. We don’t spray.”
The series is set in the 1860s and this heartthrob actually plays a bi-racial slave on a journey to freedom, all while trying to find his place in the world, but always demanding to be treated like a man.

We all know Common has been a very conscious artist, so it should be interesting to see how he takes on such a role.
