Timbaland talks about his many demons from the past, which included suicidal thoughts and dramatic weight increases, but the really juicy stuff comes when the producer talks about the late singer.

It turns out that Timbo admired more than her talents. Timbaland was in love with Aaliyah. And the only thing stopping him from doing anything was his own self-control.
Timbaland said:
I was in love with her. I said, But I’m not… She just a baby, I’m old. I said to myself, ‘I’m just gonna be her brother.’ Oh man, I was fightin’, I was fightin’ a lot — a big war. But I loved Aaliyah.”
Of course the unbelievably ironic thing about all of this is that Aaliyah was once secretly married to R. Kelly when she was only 15 and he was 27.
Timbaland’s E! True Hollywood Story special airs this Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
