Just after our troops arrive home from Iraq, things are seeming to have spiraled out of control in the divided country!

STORY: Welcome Home! The Iraq War Is Over

According to the Associated Press, Shiite-Sunni conflict in the country is causing much bloodshed. The two groups are both separate sects of the Islamic faith.

Iraq’s former dictator Saddam Hussein was a Sunni and while in power inflicted a great level of violence on Iraq’s Shiite community.

To this day the groups are still divided, which is causing violence in Iraq to grow.

It is alleged that al-Qaeda backed the Sunni insurgents who used road side blasts, sticky bombs, car bombs and suicide bombers to cause chaos in the country Thursday morning.

Iraqi’s health ministry spokesman said that 60 people died and 160 people were injured in Thursday’s string of attacks.

The Iraqi government has not been dealing with the situation well. Because of the religious conflict it is becoming increasingly hard for Sunni and Shiite representatives to collaborate and work effectively to bring about peace.

We’re just hoping that things improve in Iraq. It’s a shame that religion, which is supposed to bring about peace and faith, is causing so much bloodshed.
