Justin Timberlake hits the silver screen once again, but this time to reprise his role as English rock singer/writer Sir Elton John … maybe.

The biopic, which Elton John plans to self-produce, will be more of a “surreal look at [his] life. More in the manner of Moulin Rouge!”

The director of the musical film has yet to be announced, however John has commissioned writer Lee Hall “Billy Elliot” to pen the script for Rocketman.

Though filming has yet to begin on the biopic, Elton John has already set his eyes on artist-turned-actor Justin Timberlake to play the leading role.

This isn’t the first time JT will suit up in the legendary pop star’s 1970’s inspired ensembles – as he was also cast to play a younger Elton in the video for “This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore.”

Pretty convincing portrayal, no?
