Massachusetts Senator John Kerry had many people worried when he attended a White House event Sunday honoring the Boston Bruins as Stanley Cup Champions of 2011.

STORY: Steven Tyler Is Proud Of His Black Eye!

The 68-year old senior Senator and former Democratic presidential nominee claimed the injury was from a pickup hockey game that he played during the holidays, which resulted in him getting hit in the face with a hockey stick.

Kerry’s spokeswoman Whitney Smith made a statement saying:

“He’s totally fine… Very ironically he busted his nose recently playing ice hockey, so the Bruins can certainly relate.”

Kerry is not new to this hockey business at all. He has played the forward/right wing position for years.

At the White House event Kerry appeared to be in a very good mood.

We are just glad the long time hockey player is alright and even capable of playing such a rigorous sport at his late age!
