A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim, met his mother’s rap idol and his namesake Rakim on Hot 97’s Angie Martinez show yesterday.
Earlier this year, A$AP Rocky shared a hilarious story with Angie Martinez, explaining how he was named after legendary rapper Rakim.
Despite both rappers being New York City natives, Rocky and Rakim had never officially met. Well, Angie definitely had an Oprah moment and connected the two rappers live on air.

The overall meeting was super exciting for Rocky and seemed like a joyous occasion for Rakim, who had the pleasure of meeting a pretty motherf*cker who happens to be one of the hottest rappers in the game and is rightfully named after him.
