Yesterday was the season premiere of Glee. I am a big Glee fan. The first episode was entertaining from beginning to end with an introduction of some new and interesting characters that will surely add dynamic dimension to the show.

Sunny is a new superstar soloist and exchange student from the Philippines that will rival Rachel for solos. A new he/she football coach who looks a lot like the old coach in drag is now Sue Sylvester’s target for razzing. Yes, they are really mixing it up on the show! And for the young ladies, there is a new blonde heartthrob who knows how to belt out some notes.

The first episode abundantly featured Sue Sylvester in more than half of the scenes with her handing out her usual underhanded zingers as only she can. Love that woman. I think that the show realizes that Sue is a fan favorite, and I hope they continue to show more of her off-color wit.

What is very satisfying about Glee is that it is thoroughly entertaining for music and dance but also offers a “moral of the story” ending in which most people can relate. The high school years are trying times.

The show takes common scenarios that are typically experienced and hints at resolutions. But don’t be fooled. This show is not just for teenagers but for anyone who wants to watch a very good show.

The producers/writers of Glee are also very inclusive as they feature a wide range of ethnic and physically challenged characters. Kudos for them to think outside of the box to show that we are all united even though people may have physical differences. The second season has started off with a bang.

If you did not tune into Glee last season, please jump on board now. It is a fantastic hour of entertainment with great music, dancing, humor, meaningful interactions and thought provoking story lines. You won’t be disappointed!
