Three employees from NBC have been fired as a result of editing the 911 call that was made by George Zimmerman, the man responsible for 17-year-old Trayvon Martin‘s death.

An NBC producer was fired after editing audio which was published on the “Today” show on March 27th, 2012.

According to the Washington Post, another employee identified as Lilia Luciano departed from her job after an investigation was initiated surrounding her involvement in audio editing for a Miami-based NBC news station on March 20th.

Reporter Jeff Burnside was also fired for an incident on March 19th in which he too edited material gathered from the 911 call of George Zimmerman. 

The audio edits were allegedly an attempt to paint Zimmerman as a racist. In the edited audio Zimmerman said “this guy looks like he’s up to no good. He’s black.” However, the unedited video shows that Zimmerman was asked what race Trayvon was.
