Last night while Beyonce was turning heads at the Met Ball and making her stans spontaneously combust each time a picture of her Givenchy dress was uploaded on the internet, Jay-Z was on daddy duty.

Beyonce told reporters at the fashion party of the year that Blue Ivy was home with Jay-Z, who had a little babysitting help from Tina Knowles. That’s right, the man who once rapped, “I don’t sleep, I’m tired, I feel wired like codeine, these days a brother gotta admire from four fiends away,” is now spending his nights changing diapers and testing the temperature of baby bottles on his wrist!

It’s safe to say that these days, we gotta admire Jay-Z from four dirty diapers away now.

We can also assume that the “Hard Knock Life” rapper is facing an entirely different set of hard knocks – the hard knocks of parenting.

I’m willing to bet that somewhere in Shawn Carter’s hamper is an expensive shirt covered in baby vomit and other adorable bodily fluids from Blue Ivy.

As a die hard fan of Hova, knowing he spent last night babysitting is like imagining Superman wearing an apron to warm up a Hot Pocket in the microwave. It just don’t look right, regardless of how much I know it probably happens more often than not. Hova is cool. He doesn’t swaddle, he doesn’t hold babies in public, he’s a gangster! But, now I’m stuck with questions.

Did Jay-Z sing “Rock-A-Bye” baby to Blue Ivy when she cried, or does he freestyle Biggie tunes to calm his daughter down, similar to a video I’ve seen on YouTube? Inquiring minds want to know!

Actually, I can see Hova rhyming “Song Cry” when Blue gets upset. Now that would be sweet.

The idea of Hova changing diapers ranks up there with Mike Tyson being knocked out by Buster Douglas. Superheroes don’t do normal things, but then again, when your wife is Beyonce and needs to tend to her own superhero duties, I guess The God Emcee can spend some quality time with his daughter. He is human after all, right?!
