What YMCMB vs. G.O.O.D. Music problem? That Pusha T beef was covered in pink vodka sauce over rigatoni noodles to Lil Wayne. One week later, Wayne is back with a new banger, “My Homies Still,” that features G.O.O.D. Music capo, Big Sean (boy, boy).

This is the definition of a hit record with one listen. Wherever you are, the beat alone will ‘have you pumpin’ that bass’. Tunechi and Big Sean verbally spar back in forth with each other like it’s nothing. A great record to hear indeed, and refreshing that both camps are keeping it business as usual.

Usher has been doing his absolute best to keep it in the hood musically as of late. First, it was “Let Me See” with Ricky Rozey. Now it’s “Hot Thing” with the A$AP Rocky mob. You have to respect Usher, willing to push the creative boundaries in his music by letting the younger Rocky get his first mainstream R&B collabo.

This record will definitely be in the rotate pile at radio. This is a made for summer record, courtesy of the legendary Neptunes. Rocky is one of the hottest young acts in music. If you haven’t heard him yet, you’ll enjoy his wordplay.

Remember the ever so talented Ciara? Well she showed back up this week with a new record, “Sweat.” Good thing for her too because with the constant ambush of new artists and music we almost forgot about her.

The most anticipated featured artist on everybody’s records is 2 Chainz, and, yes, he’s featured on “Sweat” too…Tru. I’m not mad at “Sweat” though and neither will you. Ciara’s vocal talent has never been in question, and we all know and respect Mr. Chainz’ flow…Tru.

Hopefully this is just the beginning of what should be an incredible new album.

You up on Epic Records latest signee Travi$ Scott? He’s a dope new artist out of Houston TX, another youngster in this new wave of hip-hop music.

He teams up with young fresh veggie himself, Casey Veggies, on their latest track “Up.” Scott is just beginning to get his long overdue shine. Of course, we all know it’s Veggies that has the swag-tacular standout lyrics of the moment. “Up” is a great way to get “Up” on this new kid Travi$ Scott.

Boldy James’s is finally getting the MC recognition that he deserves. Peep his new record he just dropped with producer Chuck Inglish, “For The Birds.” Boldy comes from the same Midwest mold as the likes of Big Sean.

He just signed an indie deal with Decon Records. It remains to be seen what will happen but For The Birds is fresh track and great start for Boldy on his new venture.

Until We Read Again.
