Mubarak was convicted on June 2nd and jailed for life for ordering the killing of demonstrators last year during an uprising that ousted him from office.

His family is pressing for him to be moved from prison back to the military hospital where he was previously, as Mubarak’s two sons, one-time heir apparent Gamal and wealthy businessman Alaa, were by his side at the intensive care ward of Torah prison hospital, south of Cairo.

Brig Ayman Hilmi said Mubarak also had psychological problems as the former leader had to be twice defibrillated.

According to The BBC, Mubarak and his family are lobbying very hard for him to be moved back from the prison to the comfortable military hospital where he was before his conviction.
