Kevin Hart is the funniest man on the planet.

Don’t get me wrong; I thought he was funny before I saw him at Essence Music Festival. But not since Eddie Murphy’s “Raw and Delirious” have I seen such an improvement between comedy routines.

Last weekend in New Orleans, Kevin Hart not only rocked a music festival, he brought 50,000 people to their feet to give him a standing ovation!

Kevin opened up his set by asking the crowd: “Did ya’ll see my goddamn fire?”

The Think Like A Man comedian went on to say that the fire meant he was a big deal and explained why he put it in his act.

“Let me tell you why I got fire. I went to go see Jay-Z and Kanye perform right, and they had a bunch of fire and I’m like ‘Yo, I gotta get some fuckin’ fire.’ No comedian has ever performed and had fire while he was on the stage. So! Because of that, throughout my show tonight, you’re going to see a bunch of pointless fire. Ya’ll laughing. I’m dead serious, it’s not a joke. Get fire on these bitches one time! You think I’m playing?”

Kevin truly wasn’t playing; he sure did have random explosions in his comedy set, just because. Put some fire on ’em!

This comedic routine was so good, that if no one else had performed at the Essence Music Festival, it would have been worth it just to see Kevin Hart take the stage.

He told jokes about hiring a security guard, his divorce from his ex-wife, and making up excuses when you’re late.

Kevin goes on to explain how he can’t tell little lies, but how his big lies are about magical deers that eat little babies.

“A deer was running towards the car. So I’m like, ‘Oh shit, this deer is trying to eat the baby!’ That’s what I’m thinking, but then I look closer and I noticed the front part of the deer was a deer and the back part was zebra. So it was a deer and a zebra, so I was like ‘Oh shit! It’s a deerbra!’ That’s what said! ‘It’s a fuckin’ deerbra!’ So I called the zoo…”

Overall it was a hilarious show, and if you get the chance to see Kevin Hart live, make sure you do!
