According to CNN three people have been killed, including the shooter, in a shooting near Texas A&M University.
CNN Reports:
Rhonda Seaton, a spokeswoman with the College Station police department, told CNN that the three people killed were the constable, the man authorities say opened fire on law enforcement officers and an unidentified civilian.
A few minutes earlier, Asst. Chief Scott McCollum, from the same police department, told reporters that at least four people — two law enforcement officers and two civilians — were shot in the incident, which occurred around noon just a few blocks from the Texas A&M campus.

A gunman is in custody today after he shot no less than six people near the campus of Texas A&M University early Monday afternoon.

The shootings occurred just south of the University.
As reported by Dallas News:
The school’s emergency website issued a “Code Maroon” alert around 12:29 p.m., telling students and staff to avoid the area near the 200 block of Fidelity Drive. About 15 minutes later, school officials said College Station police took the shooter into custody.
Police said the suspect was firing shots from a house near the campus.
Various unconfirmed news accounts have as many as six injured, including two law-enforcement officers. Reports also indicate the incident began when a man barricaded in a house, armed with an automatic weapon, opened fire on officers.
Police are still investigating what prompted the shooting, and it wasn’t immediately known what events led up to the incident.
According to College Station Police Department spokesperson Officer Rhonda Seaton:
“The situation is under control, and at least one person has been [detained] and is believed to be the suspect.”
Thankfully, the police have the suspect in custody before he caused any further carnage.
