Tuesday is back and the week is in full swing. Thankfully we’ve come up with a few things that may make the day a bit easier to get through or at least help you wind down once it is over. The best part is that today is Ten Dollar Tuesday and we have put together some restaurants that you can go to if you happen to be in Toronto that will keep you fed for $10 and under. Check it all out in today’s installment of Dollars & Sense.

Eat At The Coffee Mill:

This Hungarian café is about as old-world as the city gets. It’s an institution in a neighborhood once crowded with hippies; now it’s the designer divas who squeeze into leatherette banquettes or sip espresso on the outdoor terrace. If you’ve never had palascinta, an Eastern European sweet crêpe filled with soft cheese, now’s your chance. Leave room for one of the many hot drinks made with chocolate.

No need to worry about the old-world restaurant having new-world prices. You can get a coffee or even an entree for $10.

Great Cooks on Eight

The ‘Eight’ refers to location: the eighth floor of the downtown department store The Bay, overlooking downtown. The bustling lunchtime spot is a modern update of the department store restaurant. Part cafeteria, part tea room, it has menus that are as casual as the decor: no-fuss quiches, egg-and-tuna sarnies and cheesy lasagne that puts frozen counterparts in their place. After hours, it becomes a cooking school where celebrity chefs conduct classes for amateurs and corporate clients. The best part is tht entrees star at just $7 so you can definitely take in the view of the city while enjoying an inexpensive meal.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Get A Roommate

If you have the extra space and the patience, why not save a little bit of money on rent. We all have at least one friend who is dying to get out of their lease or to just move out in general. Capitalize on their situation and your space by inviting them to split your rent.
