I’ve always been a fan of Warren Sapp

When he made the comments that playing in the NFL was like slavery, I rode for him. I understood where he was coming from and damn it, I agreed with him. Even if slaves got beat, fed slop and were forced to work against their will, I too felt like the millionaires in the NFL were being treated like slaves.

Yeah, I went to the extreme because I was genuinely a fan. But his latest comments about Evelyn Lozada have gone too far.

In an interview with The Miami New Times, the retired Pro-Bowl lineman said:

“When is the last time one of your homeboys called you and told you, “Let me tell you about this fight at the club last night where this guy and his girlfriend were walking by and he turned around and head butted the girl.” Never. He’s taking the rap for it. We don’t do that. She did it.”

To say it was Evelyn Lozada’s fault is a bit extreme. Now I completely understand that we do not know all the facts, but I find it extremely hard to believe that Warren knows more than the police and other investigators working on the case. So for him to blame a woman who claims to be the victim of domestic violence is one of the worst things a person can say, next to “legitimate” rape!

But Warren doesn’t stop there. He continues to dig himself a deeper grave by saying:

“That’s a woman that is going to depend on her beauty for the rest of her life to open any door she wants to walk through, and she is going to do what to her forehead?”

So not only is it her fault she allegedly got heat-butted, she also has no talent and the only way she’ll open any doors for herself is because of her looks.

Warren, I’ve always liked you, but this is going too far. This is a woman who may have a colorful past, but it’s never cool to kick a person while they’re down.

It’s one thing for Warren to ride for his homie Chad, but to be a complete jerk … come on, son!

This is the perfect example of when riding for your boys goes completely wrong. This is up there with taking a charge for something you didn’t do.

Evelyn deserves an apology and she deserves it now.
