While promoting his new film Trouble with the Curve, actor/director and creator of the “Invisible Obama,” Clint Eastwood, opened up about the speech he delivered at the Republican National Convention that made the world wonder if he was going postal!

Eastwood pretended to have a conversation with President Obama while talking to a chair on the RNC stage. In an interview with Extra’s Jerry Penacoli, Eastwood admitted to the whole fiasco and called Republicans “dumb” for even asking him to address the RNC in the first place.
“People loved it or hated it, and that’s fine. I figure if somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.”
Surprisingly, the 82-year-old director said he won’t back down if he had to do it again.
“I never look backward. It’s done and it’s done. I probably would, I wouldn’t be afraid of it.”
On an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show scheduled to debut Tuesday night, Eastwood also admits that, yes, he is going crazy.
“The Democrats who were watching thought I was going senile — and the Republicans knew I was. I was actually just trying to enjoy myself.”
When first asked about the “Invisible Obama” speech, the Hollywood legend rejected claims that it was out-of-the ordinary. We’re glad that he has finally come to terms with his train wreck speech, because the truth will set you free!
